Snow Day

This picture was taken yesterday afternoon. It's snowed quite a bit since then.

I took an unofficial snow day today during day two of our blizzard. It's still snowing right now. I don't have an official count but I would say it's nearing two feet of snow. Nearly all of Denver and the front range area has closed down so I figured I just as well stay home and enjoy the family. Snow days are almost as exciting as an adult as they were when I was a kid. Well I hope everyone stays warm outthere I'm going to go drink a cup of coffee.

Do you ever find yourself going down the path and when there is a bend in the path you keep going straight. The next thing you know your battling through the thickets of life, not even sure which way to go just knowing you want out. Then after a couple of weeks or maybe even months you look back and realize that Jesus was actually guiding you through the whole time. It seems that it's when we are in the hard and confusing times that we grow the most. I think a lot of times Christ needs to get us past ourselves to where we can depend on Him. It's often hard to see in the middle of what we're going through but when we find ourselves in the arms of our savior in the end it's all worth it.

Proverbs 4:23

"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:23

That's it, that's my message. That's all I'm going to say. Just stop a minute and let God's word resonate in you. What is God saying to you about this verse. I would love your comments.

Our Deepest Fear

by Marianne Williamsonfrom A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

God Is Always Faithful

God has been revealing himself to me in such a new and a deeper way. Since we've moved here to Colorado the spiritual warfare has been strong. Not in a confrontational in your face way, but a lot more subtly. So much so that most of the time I was completely unaware. Which is a very dangerous place for a Christian to be. Satan has no problem with us if we are unaware of what he is doing in our lives. We can go right along like everything is fine but underneath in the hidden places of our hearts we slip further and further away from God until we almost forget how to communicate with him altogether. It's a dangerous place indeed and that's where I was heading, but thanks be to God he woke me up. He showed me the schemes of the enemy and how deceitful he is. God has really introduced me to a sweet fellowship with him that I have really been missing. My time digging into his word has been awesome. My thoughts have been far more focused. Even my marriage has been sweeter. God is truly good.

Just A Start To Just a Thought

I thought I would give blogging a try. I wanted someplace to share happenings, insights, or just random thoughts. Mostly I wanted all of my blogging friends to think I was cool. So here it is hopefully I can think of something profound to say. Nope nothing yet. I'll keep trying.
